Prickly Pines Disc-Golf Course will begin requiring a $5/player/day fee in coming days as a self-pay fee station is installed. District residents may purchase an annual pass for $60 ($30 for 2022). The Board of Directors opted to initiate this policy at its June meeting to pay for course maintenance, improvements, and to facilitate continued efforts to protect trees throughout the area from disc strikes. We appreciate the great love of the course that has grown over the last couple years and look forward to managing the facility in a sustainable manner that does not risk the Ponderosa Pine forest that makes it such a special place. Please help us protect this unique natural environment by paying your fee(s), minimizing your impact while on the course, avoiding smoking on the course, leashing your dog(s) at all times, and picking up your dog's waste.
In late 2017, the Park Board directed staff to develop and install an 18-hole disc golf course in Evans Park to offer another recreational activity for the community. Staff worked with local players Cameron Burrow and Jeremy Priest to design the first 9 holes. After months of playing, hearing from other players, and approval to install an additional 9-holes, the course was re-designed and expanded. The first tee is located just off the parking area for the pond.
Please be respectful of this special natural environment when playing by minimizing your impact and by packing out all litter / trash. Also, watch your steps and avoid the prickly pear cactus throughout the area. Be considerate of other park users by using a spotter on blind throws, and avoid smoking while on the course due to the potential of wildfires.
Want to play but not sure you want to invest in a set of discs? You can now rent a set of discs (driver, midrange, putter) at the park office for $5. The park office is open Monday through Friday from 9am until 5pm. No rentals are available outside of these days / times.
Whether you are a seasoned veteran player or someone who has never played at all, come on out and let us know what you think of the course!
