Enhancing our community through parks, programs, and service.
The District is in the process of developing a Parks, Recreation, Open Space, and Trails (PROST) Master Plan which will set the groundwork for the long-term health, connectivity, and sustainability of the area and its communities. Your voice is the most important piece of this process, so we invite you to participate in a community workshop on April 16th at 5:30pm at Elizabeth High School. We will present what we have learned to date and solicit your feedback on the developing plan. Don’t miss your chance to get involved and help shape the future.
Visit the project website at https://bit.ly/ElizaPROST to learn more.
We look forward to your input as we continue to make Elizabeth an even greater place to live.
Keep up on all the great things going on in the park! EPR Connections is our newsletter that we release each month to try to keep our community up to date with fun and new things that are going on with the Elizabeth Park and Recreation District.

The EPR District is currently collaborating with the Town of Elizabeth and the Elizabeth School District on a master planning effort for parks, recreation, open space (PROST), and trails within the community. The project is being substantially funded through a grant from GOCO, and the master plan process will include extensive outreach to residents to learn their needs and desires for community parks, recreation amenities, open space, and trails. The District also hopes to gage resident desire for a recreation center facility as proposed within the Casey Jones Park Master Plan.
Please visit the project website at https://bit.ly/ElizaPROST and
watch for opportunities to get involved and share your thoughts to ensure that the master plan truly represents the needs and desires of the community. While we are facilitating the development of the plan, we truly want the content for the plan to come directly from community residents.
The District is once again providing residents the opportunity to purchase Ponderosa Pine trees that can be relocated from Casey Jones Park to your property. The trees are generally 3-25 feet tall and are in areas of the park that will see future development. Our hope is to relocate the trees within the Elizabeth Community now rather than cut them down in the future once planned park projects are initiated. District residents can purchase trees under 8 foot for $150 and trees over 8 foot for $250, which is a remarkable savings over tree nursery prices. There is a 10 – tree limit at this time. Residents must also arrange for and pay any associated costs for moving the trees. The District can provide contact information for tree contractors if needed.
This program is intended to keep the trees within the Elizabeth Community and to assist in expanding our tree canopy. Trees will require irrigation for up to the first three years after planting in your yard, and potentially longer based on precipitation levels and drought conditions. Call the park office at 303.646.3599 for more info or to get your trees now.
